Although I have no plans to post on this blog for an indefinite period (never say never though), Please do ‘tune in’ to my Facebook page ‘John Manuel – the Books‘ for regular posts including photographs, brief notes about my writings, daily life in Crete and so on.
if you’ve been a follower of this blog, then many thanks from the bottom of my heart, and do please go check out the Facebook page if you’re a sucker for punishment, and I’ll still keep you posted about what’s going on in this tiny corner of a very mad world, plus post links to other Greek themed reading material that I found interesting and can recommend for fellow Grecophiles.

Thank you.
I have followed your blog for many years and am sad to be loosing that link with my beloved Greece. We have a small house in Gennadi which we visit when we can, so your original posts from Kiotari were of particular interest. I don’t participate in Facebook, so will not be able to continue. Thanks for all your correspondence over the years and enjoy your time in Crete.
Thank you for your message Lynda, and maybe don’t unsubscribe from this blog, because I may well still post something now and then, it’s just that I don’t think that it’ll be often enough to call it a regular blog any more. If I ever do post something, then you’ll get the notification. Gennadi’s a lovely laid back place to spend time away from the hordes, so let’s hope it remains so for a while yet. We used to often take a swim there, as we liked those three taverna’s right on the beach.
