About Me…

I’ve lived in Greece since August of 2005. Although it may not seem so from my rather unusual surname, I’m British born and bred. My father had roots in Southampton and my maternal grandfather was from Beverley in Yorkshire. Quite where the family name originated I’ve no idea, although I do correspond occasionally with a namesake of mine in the USA, whom I came into contact with through Facebook, of all places.

I’m eternally grateful to have met my wife, not only because she and I were apparently made for each other (sickbags available at reception…), but also because she’s half-Greek, and thus began (albeit rather slowly) my love for her mother’s country of origin.

Although my working career was primarily as a graphic designer, I was always a lover of writing, even having won a competition for an essay I wrote when I was about seven years old at a local inter-school event in Somerset, England, the county of my birth. Thus, once I became ‘semi-retired’ and made the move out here in my early fifties, I started writing my ‘memoirs’ detailing my experience with all things Greek, beginning with getting to know my wife’s mother and her family in Athens and the Peloponnese.

To date I now have sixteen books and one short story in print and Kindle format, all of which are available through Amazon and (as paperbacks) other on-line bookstores. Full details of all of my writings can be found on my web site, by clicking HERE.
